Uçuş güvenliği için martılara zorunlu göç
One suspects that animals could be easily dissuaded from
flying or roaming near this concrete Serengeti.

Measures continue to be taken to ensure flight safety for the new Istanbul
airport against any possible dangerous situations.  The airport's physical
plant is now 85% complete and environmental factors that might impact
the airport's safety status are not being neglected as construction moves
toward completion.

In the scope of these efforts, the decision has been taken to close the waste
disposal site at Odayeri, which is the largest one on the European side of
Istanbul.  Consequently, the main feeding grounds for seagulls will be
eliminated and the birds will be directed toward the Seymen Waste
Disposal site at Silivri near the Sea of Marmara, which was opened 4
months ago.  Electronic devices that chase away the seagulls are in place
at the new airport and the birds have begun to turn toward Silivri.

Besides the seagulls, the livestock at farms near the new airport pose a
problem, since they might wander onto the runways or other areas.  A
special team has been created by airport officials to talk to villagers in
nearby Akpınar, Ağağlı and Takakadın villages about their grazing
animals.  The first plane will land at the new airport on 29 October 2018.

will be at Silivri, off the map, lower left, on the Sea of Marmara.
